Taylor wanted Kya to sleep with him for a little bit tonight. He was petting her before he went upstairs and all of a sudden he yelled "what's that on her ear?". I looked and it looked like a dried pinto bean. I looked a little closer and saw it had legs. It was a tick and it was huge. I had no idea what to do. I am not a bug fan and had no idea how fast ticks could move. I shoved Kya outside and called my neighbor Rachel to ask her if she knew how to get them out since she's a farm girl. She called her dad then came over to help. Or should I say do it for me. I was trying to show her where it was and she kept saying "that bump there?"...no it's right here..."oh that little thing?"...NO! It's that enormous bean thing sticking out of her head. When she saw it she jumped. She had never seen one so big. Her dad said to pour alcohol on it first so that's what we did. He said sometimes they would work themselves out. It didn't move so she got the tweezers and started pulling on it. It wasn't budging. I am telling you it was so disgusting. I still have the heebie jeebies. After several pulls it finally popped out. No telling how long it was in there. The last time Rob took them running was last weekend so it's probably been sucking blood all week. Gross. The internet said even though they aren't moving they are still alive so I put it in a baggie with some alcohol so it could suffer a little. And so Rob could see it when he gets home tomorrow.
