Just stuff **Edited

**The paint company filed a motion yesterday to get a continuance of 30 days so we won't be going until at least the end of May. So. Lame.

I am painting the bathroom. I picked a totally different green from the ones I showed a few days ago. Much lighter. And brighter. Not sure if I love it or hate it. Still working on it. I only have the cutting in done. Will post pictures soon and you can all be honest.

Em has her third and final orientation today. They go into the classroom and get to do some of the things they will in kindergarten. A practice run I guess.

My mom, aunt and I went on a shopping binge yesterday. I only had to return something at Ross but then we started looking and it turned into an hour and a half stint. I also wanted to go to TJ Maxx. We got in there and did another two hours. I got some things to decorate the bathroom that I may or may not like once it's done. I guess I can always take stuff back if it doesn't work.

Rob will be in Malaysia from May 15Th to May 24Th. I'm not too happy that he is leaving again but he said we are that much closer to a big trip. He said I won't be complaining when we are sitting on a beach in Hawaii. I told him that wasn't enough anymore. Can you say Italy?

Two days of fun

Our two day weekend was packed to the brim with activity. Saturday morning Taylor had a soccer game at 10. After they won and we got home Rob mowed the lawn and I started raising our lawn border. When we did them several years ago we put them in too low and our rocks are always in the grass. I tried taking a shovel and pulling it up and it worked so I decided to do the whole yard. Rob adjusted sprinklers and I weeded our borders. We also made a trip to Home Depot to pick up some sprinkler parts, furnace filters etc to finish our work day. I wouldn't let Rob buy his normal weed and feed, because it isn't good for our kids, pets or the environment, so we went to Zamzows to pick up some kid, pet and earth friendly fertilizer. Zamzows is right next to the Meridian Speedway. Emily and Taylor had been asking us all day if we could go but we kept telling them no. Rob appeased Emily and we went and watched them practice through the fence for a few minutes. We went home and started working again when our neighbor came over and asked if the boys wanted to go riding. There is a house just on the other side of a field behind our house that started to build a dirt bike track and never finished it. We have heard people over there before but not recently. Jerry decided to go ask him if the boys could ride and he agreed. We got them ready and went across the street to watch them for a couple of hours. There are jumps and hills that they got to ride on and Austin even wiped out on one of the series of jumps they have. First of all he was going the wrong way and second he was going too fast for not having done them before. He made it over two and on the third he went one way and his bike went another. He got up and was stoked about his crash. His friends thought he was the coolest thing too. After they were done riding we got home and there was a call from the Harrington's saying they had extra tickets to the Speedway if we wanted to come. Are you kidding?! Do you know how many times the kids had asked us today? Of course we will be there! We hurried and got all of stuff together and went down there. To our surprise Bob and Joan and Tyler and Jodi were there too. The harrington roup ended up leaving early. We, however, stayed until 10:30 when the whole thing was done. It was cold but the kids loved it. Thanks for the invite H's!! We had a ball. That was our Saturday.

Sunday we took the kids to the OMC race track. It's a bike club you have to pay to be a member of and they only have public days once a year so we loaded up the bikes and went with the Key's. There is a small track for kids up to about 12 years old that the boys rode on all day but there is also the big track that they had a chance to go on. It was nuts. Austin is the only one of the kids that ended up going. It was supposed to be a beginner time but it looked like all of the kids in there raced for a living. We were sitting on some bleachers about halfway around the track, right on a 30 foot jump. Most of those kids were clearing that jump. Austin went around a couple of times and then we didn't see him again. He finally came walking up to us and we could tell he was upset. Later on he said that he went over a jump and hit his forehead on his handle bars. Even with his helmet he said it hurt. Poor guy. Rob went on the track too. He said it scared the crap out of him. If I thought the boys were jumping high the men were even worse. Or better. It was awesome to watch but intimidating for someone who only rides trails and has never set foot on a track. Both agreed that they would take a trail ride any day. When we got home and cleaned up we went to home teams. We had a great time as we always do. Stayed there talking till after 9. It was a great weekend.

Only three more days until we go to court. Keep praying. Only 39 days until we leave for the Philippines. YIKES!

So.Disgusting.

Taylor wanted Kya to sleep with him for a little bit tonight. He was petting her before he went upstairs and all of a sudden he yelled "what's that on her ear?". I looked and it looked like a dried pinto bean. I looked a little closer and saw it had legs. It was a tick and it was huge. I had no idea what to do. I am not a bug fan and had no idea how fast ticks could move. I shoved Kya outside and called my neighbor Rachel to ask her if she knew how to get them out since she's a farm girl. She called her dad then came over to help. Or should I say do it for me. I was trying to show her where it was and she kept saying "that bump there?"...no it's right here..."oh that little thing?"...NO! It's that enormous bean thing sticking out of her head. When she saw it she jumped. She had never seen one so big. Her dad said to pour alcohol on it first so that's what we did. He said sometimes they would work themselves out. It didn't move so she got the tweezers and started pulling on it. It wasn't budging. I am telling you it was so disgusting. I still have the heebie jeebies. After several pulls it finally popped out. No telling how long it was in there. The last time Rob took them running was last weekend so it's probably been sucking blood all week. Gross. The internet said even though they aren't moving they are still alive so I put it in a baggie with some alcohol so it could suffer a little. And so Rob could see it when he gets home tomorrow. Thank you Lord for good neighbors.

A little happier

After that sad, lame, horribly depressing post yesterday I thought it would be appropriate to write something a little more upbeat today.

**I thought I heard the boys up early this morning so I got up to see what they were doing. At 7:40 both were dressed, were eating cereal and making their own lunches. Both of them were ready to walk out the door at 7:55. They don't have to leave till 8:25 so they had a whole half hour to watch cartoons. And it was a peaceful morning. No rushing to get them out the door. Loved that.

(did you notice I'm using stars today instead of dashes? see? happy.)

**I was wanting to paint the downstairs bathroom while Rob was gone this week but I can't decide on a color. I guess I have the color I want just not the shade. I want it green and was thinking about one of these but don't know if it will be too dark.

I don't know if I should go lighter or not. I am leaning toward the bottom square "mossy green". Any suggestions?

**My nose is no longer dripping. Now it's stuffed and I can't breathe. But the happy part is there are no more drips.

**Taylor got a banana cream pie blizzard yesterday and it was amazing.

**I am going to start pricing my stuff for our yard sale. I have no idea how we accumulate so much stuff in a year. We also have a lot of big stuff that I will be thrilled to have out of the garage.

OK. That's about all I can come up with for now. My head is getting foggy. If you are in the mood for some giveaways go to bloggy giveaways and enter your heart out.

Why it's good for me

I am one of those people. Are you? You know, the ones that would rather eat an orange Starburst than a piece of the fruit. One of those that reaches for any form of processed food before reaching for fruits or vegetables. My taste buds are more interested in french fries and cheez-its. That's why I drink Jus.

23 fruits, berries and herbs. Need I say more? Before I started taking this product I wouldn't have gotten 23 different fruits, berries and/or herbs into my system in a whole year let alone daily. But they're in there. Peel and all. Pureed to get the fullest benefit from the fruit. Aronia berries, mangosteen, white tea, and lycium berries plus 19 more. Haven't heard of some of them? I hadn't either. Where do you get a wild bilberry? Or an acerola? I had no clue until a few months ago but I do now. They are all in Jus.

Sure there are tremendous business opportunities that are associated with this product and after reading this if you become interested feel free to contact me and we can talk. Rob and I became independent business owners even before the product started shipping because we believed in it. However, it's more about health. The health of me, my kids, my family and friends. Unless you are living on an organic farm eating only what the good earth gives you most of us aren't getting the nutrition that we need. One ounce a day will change all that.

As of right now this product is the best antioxidant product in the world. In the world. It is more than four times better than its closest competitor. Did you hear me? Four times better. Why am I telling you this? When I go to a good movie I blog about it. When I find a great restaurant I blog about it. So why not this. Why not tell you about a product that can change your health and a company that could change you life. Come visit us. Watch the video. Take a look around. Then, let me know if you want to be a part of it.

Two babies in two days

And not one bit of baby fever for me. Two friends of ours had babies, one of Wednesday and one on Thursday. Rob and I went to the hospital last night to see both of them and even though I got to hold those delicious bundles of pink goodness for close to an hour each I didn't want to take them home. This is a first for me. As soon as I see a baby I usually want one. Not this time. I love the freedom of my baby being five.

Emily had kindergarten registration today. She was excited and called it "big school" cause she couldn't remember 'kindergarten'. She passed the check list with flying colors. The only bad thing we found out is that she is going to be in the a.m. class. I was really hoping for p.m. so it wouldn't be such a chore getting all three kids ready at once. I guess it's time I pull up my big girl panties and deal huh? I guess that's what moms were created to do. Get all the kids ready and off to school without complaining. I will work on that.

My aunt and I went back to Hulls Gulch yesterday for a hike. We ended up walking almost 4.5 miles round trip. It felt good. I also ran on Wednesday morning. A whole mile. It's tough let me tell you. Running takes more out of me than I thought it would. And I'm sore. I can understand my legs but why are my back and shoulders sore? I don't run like Phoebe.

this is going to be long. very long.

We have been keeping ourselves busy since my last post. Let me fill you in.

Rob got home from the East Coast on Thursday night so he took Friday off so we could spend the day together. We were supposed to go skiing with Rich and Steph but they had to back out so it was just the two of us. Rob is a crazy skier but I manage to keep up, or maybe I should say he takes it slow, so we can ski together. It was a gorgeous day and we had done a few runs. We got to the top of a run and Rob started going through the powder.

I.am.not.a.powder.skiier.

I look like a retarded monkey when I ski in the powder but I thought I would give it a try. There was a lot of squealing on my part but we made it down the mountain and it was really fun so we decided to do it again. We were about halfway down when something went wrong. Rob was ahead of me so he couldn't say but one minute I was going down the mountain and the next my arms were flying all over and before I knew it I was on my back. Let me paint the picture. I was going down the mountain like a normal person and when I landed I was on my back with my head going down hill. My left ski was sticking straight up out of the snow but was buried up to my boot so I couldn't move it and my right ski was...i don't know...not with me. It was a little ways up hill from where I was. I am laying there and I am laughing hysterically. Rob asked me if I was OK and I told him I thought I hurt something. I was trying to move but I couldn't so he came and tried to put me back together. When I finally got my ski out of the snow and was able to stand up my right leg was hurting. Not enough to go get help but I could tell I had done something. Through the whole process I was still laughing. Hard. Almost crying. You see I laugh when I get hurt. Don't know why. I just do. Which means I usually laugh when others get hurt too so don't be offended if you a take a tumble and I split a gut. Anyway, I pulled myself together and I asked Rob if he thought I was hurt when I fell. He said yes. I said did you think I was crying? "No". Did you think I was laughing? "I knew you were laughing". He knows me too well. We started down the hill again and I get about 20 feet and my left ski comes off and I fall flat on my face. Apparently it had come loose but hadn't fallen all the way off when I fell. Of course I laid there laughing. Again. I can only imagine how I looked. Flailing all over like a retarded monkey. See? That's why I don't do powder. My leg was bothering me a little so we decided we'd had enough and headed home.

Saturday was a lazy day. Taylor had a soccer game at 2. Right in the middle of the day. Thankfully it's his only one like that. All others are at 9 or 10. He made another goal this week. He is loving soccer and he's been such a good sport. I don't think I did anything all day besides get a sunburn, pull out capris for the first time this year and watch a movie. Gotta love Saturdays.

Sunday Rich and Steph went with us to Thousand Springs. However it didn't turn out exactly as planned. Rob told them we were going out by Mountain Home to run the dogs. What he failed to mention was that Thousand Springs is located in Hagerman, a mere 65 miles passed Mountain Home. We also failed to take a map with us. We went once before but it has been at least 3 years and we didn't remember exactly how to get there so we were winging it. And not doing a very good job. After getting off at two wrong exits, stopping twice to ask for directions and driving a good two hours we still didn't make it to the right place. We made it to Thousand Springs Hydro Project. The scenery was as pretty as it sounds. When we were finally able to get out of the car and walk around it was OK. There was one spring and plenty of room for the kids and dogs to run so it turned out to be a nice day. And it was another beautiful one so we couldn't complain.

Last night I had Bunko. Only one more to go before our summer break. And guess what?! I won. A whole $30. It was the first time I have won all year. I was so happy. Skye, Steph and I carpooled together. It seems that every time I am with those girls I learn something new about them. Don't worry girls, I will go to my grave with all your secrets.
We also have some bittersweet news to share. After much thinking and much praying we have decided to step down from youth staff. It has been our love and passion for seven years but we feel like God has been calling us away for some time now. We still have a passion for youth and I will be helping Keith as he needs me so we will still be around just not as visible as now.
I also wanted to write down a couple things Em said this weekend that were cracking me up.
#1-We were at Sonic after school Thursday and she was siting in the front eating with me. She looked around and said "where does the parachute come out?".
#2-I have a boy in my class. His name is Johnafin.

Two surprises

The first was waking up to this.

Hellooo. Is it not April 9th?

The second was while I was watching American Idol. Anyone else see the end of the show tonight? They sang Shout to the Lord. I was completely blown away. The only thing they changed was at the beginning when they sang 'my Shepherd, my Savior' instead of 'my Jesus, my Savior'. Either way millions of people heard that song. I am shocked that they used it but pleasantly surprised.

Rob sent me a picture while he was at the Red Socks game. He has nice cushy seats about 5 rows above the dugout almost looking straight at third base. Work? Seriously? He gets home tomorrow night at midnight and we are hitting the slopes with Rich and Steph on Friday. Should be fun skiing without kids in tow.

Day number 2

Rob had to go to New Hampshire this week for work so I am on day number two of single parenting. The first day went very well. I almost didn't even have to yell at them all day. Pretty good for around here. Rob was so cute yesterday. We both love the East Coast and would love to spend a lot of time exploring it. He called and said there were so many places he would like to stop and look at but it just wasn't the same without me there. Awww. I would like to say he has it pretty rough this week. He didn't have anything to do yesterday so he went to the Nike outlet. Today he has meetings and then tomorrow he gets to go to a Red Socks game. He's so lucky.

My aunt, Emily and I went for a walk in Hulls Gulch yesterday. My aunt and I have decided that we would like to run in the Women's Fitness Celebration his year. I made that commitment last year and then my heart started acting up so it went out the window. This year I plan to do it. It was so nice to get out in the foothills and be in the fresh air. Since Emily was with us we had to take it kind of slow but next time it's just going to be the aunt and me. I hope she's ready.

Well it is now 9:52 and considering I started this post at 9:57 this morning I am going to call it good and sign off. Good night.

Laughter

Last night Rob and I had a wedding to go to for a guy he works with. It was a Treasure Valley Baptist which is an extremely conservative church and it was...uhhh...interesting. Before the bride even came out there was a salvation message and the groom and two groomsmen sang all five verses of "how great a foundation" in three part harmony. Fantastic. And can I tell you that it is hard to take a guy seriously that is wearing an all white tux with tails, a black vest and a black top hat. When he first came out Rob and I almost lost it. Even though it wasn't an event I would like to sit through again it wasn't that bad. I guess.

After the wedding we went to my parents to eat and pick up the kids. We were all sitting around the tale when my aunt pulled out a box of pictures that my grandpa had given her on her last visit there. We sat for a looong time passing pictures around the table and laughing so hard at our past selves. Why is it that no mater how great you think you look at the time you never look that great looking back 20 years later. We did find some pictures of my brother and I when we were young, maybe 2 and 5, that I had never seen before that were adorable. I will have to post them when I get them scanned. We also found some pictures of my grandpa from the late teens...1919 to early 1920s. It hard to believe they have lasted that long and are still in good condition. I love having them though. What stories they tell.

Today Taylor had his first soccer game and scored two of the four goals they made. I think he is growing up. Usually he would be bragging about them but today he didn't say much, even when I asked him about them. We were so proud of him. I am looking forward to the games that are in May because I about froze my tooshy off. The sacrifices you make for your kids. I had to stop at Winco after the game and while Tay and I went in Rob ran to Starbucks and grabbed us a coffee. How sweet. Just what I needed to help take the chill off. We came home and I got on the computer to order pictures for our court date. The paint company sent us a letter saying they wanted to bring various professionals out to look at our house so they could write up their reports before our court date. I decided I needed to get in gear and make sure I have everything we need for our case. I went online and found multiple articles documenting that if the house is washed, as it should be before it's painted, and doesn't have enough time to dry then the moisture will come out of the wood and make the paint bubble, just like ours did. I said before that I feel good about the case but it is still nerve wracking to think about and have to wait for.

Rob and Taylor are fishing so I am going to make use of my time and scrap...or watch a movie :o)

No School?

I do believe they just got done having five whole days off from school and they got another one today. What a life they lead. While I planned to sleep in as late as I could my eyes popped open at 7:33 and they would not close again. Ugh!

My mom called last night and asked if we wanted to go to Municipal park today for a picnic and then stroll through the nature center. Even though it was chilly today we went anyway. It was a little dreary inside the center because nothing has bloomed yet, except for the one crocus. Though there wasn't much foliage to look at there was still plenty to do.

#1-Pictures of course.

#2-Pretending like this stuffed bear is attacking you.

#3-Looking at fish.

#4-Jumping. Jump off of anything that is standing still just because you can.

It was a fun day and I definitely recommend going there...just wait till something blooms.

That time of year again Edited

A picture of the actual costumes I am describing might help huh?

Costume time. I love picking out their costumes then waiting and waiting till they finally come in and they can try them on. The song for the black and pink one is Razzle Dazzle from Chicago and the other pink one is Friendship Grows by the one and only Strawberry Shortcake.

We haven't done a lot this week but it has flown by. The guys had a great time camping even if they did drive 8 hours Thursday night only to end up an hour away from Boise and they about froze to death. All in the name of adventure. Gotta love boys.

I took Kya in this morning to get her spayed. At 4:30 I have to take Sadie and Socks in to get their shots then bring all three home together. That ought to be fun.

I went out to lunch with Dionna yesterday. We used to be in the same home team but they dropped out of it about a year and a half ago...maybe two. Anyway, we see each other at church but never outside. She offered some of her girls clothes for Emily so we decided to meet up for lunch and make the most of it. We had a good time and I realized what fun it is going to be when Emily goes to school. :)

Off to the vet...

What shall we do?

Rob and my brother packed up the boys and headed for a spring camping trip this weekend. They are crazy, I know. It has been so stinkin cold this week and it's not going to be warming up this weekend. I packed more thermals, socks, undershirts and clothes than they will probably want or need but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Em and I had a quiet evening at home last night. She played at Matt's until 8 then she came home and got in the bath. When it was nice and full she decided she wanted a shower instead. I spent the evening going back and forth between three shows...The Apprentice, Oprah who had Seal and Heidi Klum on, and the Access Hollywood/Frasier hour. Because I surfed I have no idea who won The Apprentice, I saw only part of the Oprah interview and I missed most of the Hollywood gossip that usually helps me fall asleep at night. It was actually fine though. By 11:00 I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open. I woke up this morning to the phone ringing at 9:00 and couldn't remember falling asleep. That's a good night.

Today we are going to the Y to go swimming with Matt and Rachel and we are going out to dinner with my parents tonight. The rest of the weekend is still wide open. What are two girls to do?

Her First Official Loss

It happened yesterday. She was at Uncle Kelly's with my mom and aunt. She ate a chip and out it popped.

I loved Andrea's idea about sprinkling glitter by the window. However when I looked through all the craft stuff I realized we were out. I was so bummed but then I came across these colorful stars. They would work right? I sprinkled them by her window and when she got up this morning I asked her if she saw where the Tooth Fairy came in. She said 'how do you know?'. I told her to look for the magical stars she leaves when she flies. Sure enough she found them by the window and thought they were so cool.

We had a great Easter weekend. It started out Thursday night with dying eggs. Matt came over to join us. The process began nice and clean but by the time they were done their hands were covered. They had fun and we have more than enough eggs to make egg salad sandwiches. My favorite.

Saturday morning we went to our park for an Easter egg hunt. A Nazarene church puts it on and they had 14,000 eggs there for 4 age groups. That's a lot of eggs. We decided to go to Saturday night service so we could sleep in and enjoy our Sunday morning. I couldn't believe how packed it was. There were over 400 people in a service that usually has maybe 60? Stephanie sang Lord, You're Holy with the choir and it was awesome! Gave me chills. Afterward was the kids went to their second egg hunt. I tried to get some pictures of the three kids but Austin was less than cooperative due to a sleepover the night before. I got a few good ones of Emily and Tay and then made Austin pose for a few. Doesn't he look happy?

Sunday morning I made our traditional bunny and chick pancakes. I almost didn't make them this year because even thought I love making them I didn't think the kids really paid attention to them. I was so excited when Taylor and Em both asked if I was making them. Guess they did notice. Austin had another sleepover so he could help at the egg hunt at church and came home with my parents. He wasn't here Easter pancakes or for his basket but don't worry, the Easter bunny left his basket on his bed for him to find when he got home. After breakfast it was time to get ready for lunch. I had done most of the prep the night before since I hate rushing around trying to get it done last minute so there wasn't a lot to do. Mostly just vacuum and put the ham in. We had a much smaller group this year which, Rob and I agreed, was so nice. We hosted my parents, Rodger and Terry, Jim and Theresa, and Kris and Melissa. And there were only seven kids. Much more manageable than last years brood. We had a nice lunch and the kids got their third and final egg hunt. Suffice it to say they have enough of candy. More than enough candy.

Now I get to entertain them for spring break. Goody. Yesterday was OK but today didn't start out that great. Taylor went to get the milk out of the fridge and spilled an ENTIRE pitcher of tea on the floor. Bring on the fun.

I haven't done much today

but I did do this.

Find the super easy pattern here.

It was so easy that I'm going to make one out of this too.

I also had to share this picture of Em. She was walking to Matt's yesterday and it was such a dreary day. Loved that she had on her red 'Mrs. Clause' dress and her pink umbrella.

I hope they're not as mean as judge judy

We received our court date for small claims court. May 1st at 9:00. I wish it were a little sooner because I don't have much patience for stuff like this. I just want it over and a verdict handed down. We have to meet with a mediator first at 9:00 and if we can't come to an agreement then we go to court at 1:00 the same day. I feel really good about our case and we have lots of pictures of the house so I'm not worried about that. My biggest concern is that after all this the judge will tell us that the job was done and we need to suck it up and go on. And I will be stuck fuming about it every time I look at the house. Prayers would be appreciated.

Not much else going on here. We are dying Easter eggs tonight. Messy and fun. I am also going grocery shopping for Easter dinner. I have a surprisingly small list so it shouldn't take too long.

hold it one minute

i was tucking emily in and she was wiggling her bottom teeth. she can hardly wait till they come out and she asked me when i thought they would fall out. i said maybe next week. she replies "tomorrow i'm going to have taylor hit me in the mouth so they fall out". i told her she couldn't do that to which she replied "i'm just gonna ask him". now it's not the fact that taylor wouldn't love to take a free whack at his sister, it's the pain that she would be in afterward. not so much from the hit but from realizing that there were still two teeth in her mouth that she thinks shouldn't be there. what am i going to do with her?

answers

*fluffing shirts-rob is tall. he doesn't like me to dry his shirts cause they shrink in the length and then he gets feisty, so i hang them to dry then i have to fluff them in the dryer to get the wrinkles out. not fun. trust me.

*breakfast pizzas-they are sooo not healthy but they are good. Austin has been running late for school so they are easy to throw in the toaster oven and hand him on the way out the door.

1lb. cooked sausage
2 jars Old English cheese spread (this is a processed cheese that is by the Parmesan cheese at walmart. it comes in small glass jars)
1 stick butter(i usually use half)
12 english muffins.

mix cooled sausage, cheese and butter. Spread on muffins and freeze. When ready to eat, bake at 400* for 8-10 minutes.

See..not healthy but when the cheese melts and it gets a little brown on top...mmm good. You could probably add some things to it to make it healthier like scrambled egg or mushrooms. I have never tried it but it would be good.

*I got my hair cut today. She made it a little darker than I thought it would be but she assured me it would fade. It always does. I also went a little shorter than I meant to but my hair grows fast.

*I tried my first all green St. Patrick's Day dinner and it was a hit. On the menu was chicken fettuccine that was dyed green, green salad, green beans, asparagus, pickles, brownies with green frosting and green tea to drink. Yum.
